Scandanavian Welfare Model for Poland?

The Ferdinand Lassalle Centre for Social Thought and the Warsaw Office of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung organised a conference in Warsaw on the Scandanavian Welfare State as a model for Warsaw. The main speaker was Professor Joakim Palme (Uppsala), son of the late Olof Palme.

Personally I am rather sceptical of the possibility of transferring such a model to Poland, but the discussion at the meeting raised some interesting points.
